Use of Funds

The proceeds raised by this organization are used specifically in line with the mission to benefit organizations dedicated to research and improving survival rates, such as St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and other research institutions. Proceeds are also used to benefit local hospitals and other organizations such as Make-a-Wish and Gilda's Club to assist those dealing with the effects of childhood cancer, both physically and emotionally.

Below summarizes the use of funds that have been raised in the fight against childhood cancer since inception of the Remember Eric-Fight Childhood Cancer organization.  None of this would be possible without everyone’s incredible generosity;

• Over $100,000 has been donated to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital related to construction of its new facility opening in 2010 and to the opening of its 5th floor in January 2014.

• Over $300,000 has been donated to Make-A-Wish for numerous wish trips for children and their families suffering from this disease.

• Over $40,000 in financial support to PORT (Pediatric Oncology Resource Team) plus numerous gifts to support programs at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.  Such gifts include PlayStation games, board games, PlayStation units, slushy machines, etc.

• Over $30,000 to provide continuing financial support to Duke Children’s Hospital and their support programs to help make the stay for children and their families more enjoyable.

• Over $25,000 to Starlight Ministries, a grief support program for those who lost loved ones.

• Over $20,000 to Michigan Blood to help support their cord blood bank

• Provide various financial support to VanAndel Institute for continued research.

• Provide various financial support to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for continued research.

• Provide various financial support to Gilda’s Club and LaughFest in its efforts to provide support programs for those affected by cancer.

• Provide various financial support to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for continued research.

• Provide various financial support to the American Cancer Society for continued research.

• Provide various financial support to the “We Do Care” fund of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

• Provide support to various other programs in line with the mission of this organization.

• Pay for related program expenses.
